SnowshoesWinter can be brutal for sun-loving people who love to exercise outdoors. When the snow falls and the temperature drops, sunshiny forms of exercise may be tough, if not impossible. That doesn’t mean you can’t burn it up outside though — you just have to learn to love a Winter sport. One of my favorites is snowshoeing because it’s fairly inexpensive, as easy as walking, as challenging as running, and it’s a way to appreciate the beauty of Old Man Winter. In an hour of stomping around in the snow, you’ll burn 433 calories. The bin includes 2 adult pairs and 2 child pairs of snowshoes.  $15

Coming Soon– Cricut Explore Air 2 w/ iPad and Cricut Design Space Crafting Saturday sign up. Now it’s faster and easier than ever to create personalized, professional-looking DIY projects with the Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine-Mint. Flexible and easy-to-use, this machine can be also used when on the go. Cost: TBD

Snowshoe Trail: Check out our snowshoe trail in the school forest.  Start by the Football concession stand, follow the trail around the football field fence, and enter one of the trails with the hot pink flags (signs will be posted soon). The main trail loops and reconnects and brings you back to the top of the football field.  Estimated 1 mile loop. There are a few side trails we are working on as well.  They aren’t marked with flags, just follow the tracks! This is an exciting new project for us in partnership with our Northland Foundation AGE to age grant.  This spring we will add a story walk to the loop in the woods!
