Spring Yoga with Suzy

Pretty much the most awesome workout ever. Join Suzy for a laid back, fun yoga session.

When:  Mondays, April 1- May 6

Women’s Strength Training 101, Part 2

This strength and weight training class for women is a continuation of the class held in January.  Part I is not a pre-requisite for this class.  You can still come and learn!  Class structure will include timed stations, using some equipment such as kettlebells and jump ropes, but most of the stations will be on machines, including all the new ones!  Come dressed comfortably for ease of movement.  Modifications will be made available for those unable to perform the full exercises.

It is highly recommended that you bring a water bottle for use during the class.  **It is required you have a pair of indoor gym shoes (different from what you wear to the school).

Classes will be held Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Barnum High School Fitness Center.  **Please park in the back of the school (fitness center) as entry will be in the back closer to the fitness center.

This class will be held for 5 weeks, running from April 1-May 1.

Cost $40

Guitar Lessons

Spencer Walton, our Elementary Music teacher, will be offering guitar lessons in half an hour time slots on Mondays and Tuesdays starting February 4th!  He has a guitar available to use or bring your own.  Lessons will be $18/session starting February 4-June 4, a total of 18 weeks.  List your preference and Spencer will contact you with your scheduled time.

When:  Mondays and Tuesdays

Time:  3:30-5:30p in half an hour sessions

Where: Elementary Music room

Cost: $18/session (up to $324)

Ages:  7 and up

*Please note, children cannot be unattended in the school.  If they need to stay afterschool before or after their lessons, please make arrangements with Bomber Club.  251-1501 or bomberclub@isd91.org. 

 

AARP Refresher Class

The AARP Smart Driver course is the nation’s largest classroom and online driver safety course and is designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. Learn proven safety strategies and how you could save money on your car insurance.

Time: 5-9 pm

Where: BHS room C-9

Cost:   $17 AARP member

$22 nonmember

When: Mon – Fri / Any day school is open.

Time:  6:00-7:30a

Where:  Barnum High School

Cost:  FREE, but must PRE-REGISTER

 

“Strings n’ Things”

Come to make some awesome String Art with Julie DeMeyer from Superior!  There will be 4 choices to chose from.  Photos will be available on the website.  All supplies and materials are provided.  She also has Take & Make kits for an additional cost!

County Seat Theater “Mynx and Savage”

Mynx and Savage is a tri-level story of a comic book writer, the characters of his superhero story and the creatures of his “serious” work.  When corporate powers start pushing him to produce, he is torn between the comfort of fantasy and the necessary truth.

When: Thu, June 6

Cost: $50

Where: 4:30p Barnum High School parking lot, Dinner at Carmen’s 5:00-6:15pm, County Seat Theater 6:30-8:00p

*Dinner is a steak or chicken plate, beverages on our own.

Daytripper’s Dinner Theatre “Spirit Level”
