The following contains critical information regarding distance learning necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic and our newly extended school closure.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Governor Walz declared that public schools in Minnesota will implement distance learning plans through at least April 30, 2020. Per the executive order, schools are directed to prepare for the return of students to campuses on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. If Governor Walz deems it necessary to continue distance learning beyond this time, students will not report until the newly identified dates. The Barnum Public Schools will communicate with families about any statewide changes or mandates.
Previously outlined procedures for obtaining emergency worker child care, nutrition services, and student mental health support remain in place.
We appreciate your continued support, collaboration and patience as we work to provide daily educational engagement for the Barnum students. Together, we can ensure these next days and weeks will be as productive as possible while we all curtail our activity in such a way that protects the health and well-being of each other, our families, and our community.
