Early Childhood Screening

EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENING

The State of Minnesota requires that all students have Early Childhood Screening done before enrolling in Kindergarten. The purpose of this screening is to identify any educational needs so that appropriate services can be offered. The ideal age group for this screening is 3 1/2 to 4 year old children. The screening includes hearing and vision, height and weight, health and developmental history, speech, motor skills, concepts, and emotional/social development using a standardized screening tool for this age group.
