GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students need to complete a minimum of 24.5 credits in grades 9-12 to be eligible for graduation. Credits are required in the following subject areas:

Students need to complete a minimum of 24.5 credits in grades 9-12 to be eligible for graduation. Credits are required in the following subject areas:
English (4 Credits) Must include: STEM (2 Credits) Must Include:
Language Arts 3 .5 Credit in either math or science
American Literature
2 (4 Semesters) English Electives Financial Literacy (.5 Credit)
Junior Year
Social Studies (4 Credits) Must include:
Civics Intro to Consumer Technology (.5 Credit)
American History Freshman Year
World History
Economics Fine Arts (1 Credit) Must Include:
1 (1 Semester) Social Studies Elective Band, Choir, or Art
Science (3 Credits) Must include: Physical Education and Health
Physical Science (2 Credit Required with .5 in Health)
Biology
Chemistry or Physics Elective Credits (4.5 Credits)
2 Credit of STEM Course
Math (3 Credits)
Seniors must meet the credit requirements to participate in the graduation ceremony. All work must be completed and submitted by the last day of school for seniors so that graduation status may be determined

State Assessment Opt Out Option

Parents/guardians have the right to not have their student participate in state required standardized assessments. More information and forms are found at http://education.state.mn.us/MDE/fam/tests/.

NOTIFICATION TO PARENTS CONCERNING GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Prior to October 15th of each school year, all parents of students will be notified of graduation requirements and testing procedures via letters, the Public Reporter, registration materials, and/or student handbook. In addition students and parents/guardians will be notified of student scores and remediation opportunities when necessary.
